Off to a Good Start!

Hello Graveyard of the Gods Backers,

Thank you all for a great first day! We've hit some major milestones, including passing 100 backers and 40% of our goal! Of course we always want to fund completely the first day, but I've found that if the campaign can raise at least a third of the goal in the first three days, it usually funds. We're past that already, so odds are good that we'll fund and even hit a few stretch goals.

We're already doing a lot to reach out, but it always helps to get a little boost. Sharing the campaign on social media, web forums, or around the table can help us reach our goal faster and make your books even better.

JammerCon

JammerCon is an online gaming convention that's coming up this Saturday. And as it just so happens I'm running a portion of the adventure I wrote for Graveyard of the Gods this Saturday at 10 am CDT. If you'd like to get a sneak peak, of what Graveyard of the Gods will be like, there are still slots available, so come sign up to play.

That's all for now. I'll continue to check in as campaign continues.

50%, Jammer Con, Part of the Art, and More!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Sep 14, 2022 at 12:47:44 AM

Hello Graveyard of the Gods backers,

We hit another major milestone today, reaching 50% of our funding goal! Since we still have 27 days left on the campaign, I think we're sure to fund, it's just a matter of when and how many stretch goals we can hit.

JammerCon Tomorrow!

JammerCon, an online Spelljammer-themed convention, is tomorrow! I still have several slots left in the game I'm running, so if you'd like to see Graveyard of the Gods in action, or just say “Hi,” sign up and give it a try.

Part of the Art

I want to take a moment to give a plug for the Part of the Art backer level. This level gets you something you can't every get outside of the Kickstarter campaign: the chance to be in the book!

We'll add an NPC to the book based on a description you give, and they can look like you or a favorite character you've created. Take a look at the example below of a Part of the Art pledge from one of our previous Kickstarter campaigns.

Other Books I'm Backing

I not only run Kickstarter campaigns, I also back them (over 100 now!). From time to time in these updates, I'll mention other ones I found and backed. These aren't official endorsements and I don't have any insider knowledge, they're just things I see and like.

The first I choose for pretty obvious reasons. Shipwrecks of the Astral Sea, is another collection of adventures perfect for Spelljammer, and you could easily be combine it with Graveyard of the Gods for a Spelljammer campaign.

From their Kickstarter Page:

Wild Space and The Astral Sea are filled with countless mysteries to be discovered. Among them are Spelljammer vessels that met with disastrous fates. These fascinating shipwrecks contain exciting new stories, monsters, treasures, and secrets. No crew in the multiverse would pass up a chance to explore them.

That'll for now. I'll post again soon.

Updates, Previews, and More!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Sep 14, 2022 at 12:47:38 AM

Hello Graveyard of the Gods Backers,

We are now just over a week into the campaign and still making good progress towards funding. We've crossed some more major milestones with over 200 backers and reached nearly 70% of our funding goal. I'm guessing we'll funding in a week to 10 days, leaving us another week or two to earn some stretch goals.

Gift from the Gods Preview on Geek Native

The Valley of Mist an Roars features a wild land growing from the corpse of a primal god who existed long before intelligent life. It's a place great beauty and terrible danger with a helping of wondrous treasure.

To see a little more about what heroes might discover there, you can check out the preview up now on Geek Native featuring the gifts from the wilderness.

Another Book I'm Backing

As I mentioned last time, I'll periodically share some other projects on Kickstarter that I've backed. Again I don't have any special knowledge of these and can't make an official endorsement, I just think they look interesting.

This time I'm looking at In the Court of the Frozen Queen. This looks like a fresh spin on the classic tale of heroes rising to save the land.

From the Kickstarter page:

Something bad must have happened in the village of Fairhaven. A caravan that once set out for the village is missing, and no citizens of Fairhaven have been encountered in neighboring cities. Rangers report that an abandoned tower in the mountains is being rebuilt, and those who wandered near the outskirts of town tell the story of a towering building encased in frost in the very center of Fairhaven. “The Ice Queen has arrived”, bards say, cautiously telling the tale they overheard in Fairhaven. “And the valley is going to freeze.”

A group of adventurers has gathered in the Dragon Head inn, worried about the rumors mulling about. They do not know what they will find in the north, but they know one thing – to save the people of the valley, they must go and get an audience In the Court of the Frozen Queen.

FUNDED!!!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Sep 14, 2022 at 12:47:19 AM

Hello Backers,

Just a few hours ago, we reached our funding goal! This means Graveyard of the Gods is a go!

Best of all, we have more than half the campaign left, which means that we are pretty much guaranteed to hit several stretch goals. I'm guessing that we'll be able to at least double what we've got so far by, which means we'll add at least a couple more god-isles.

But first, our next goal at $12,000 is for tokens and maps for you to use with the virtual table top of your choice.

Other Things I've Backed

Finally we have another project that I recently backed. As always these are things that I think looked cool.

This time it's Tomb, a mega dungeon with a modern twist. In addition to the thematic similarities of our names (Tomb, Graveyard, get it), this promises fun tactical encounters and interesting enemies, which I am always a fan of.

From the Kickstarter Page:

TOMB is a sprawling dungeon delve zine inspired by the adventures of our past and the ideas of the present. Compatible with 5e, TOMB is being created as a streamlined and modern take on the concept of the mega-dungeon, with a strong focus on providing an easy-to-run and tactically engaging experience for both sides of the GM screen.

That's all for now. I hope to be back soon to announce that we've reached a stretch goal.

Maps and Tokens Unlocked!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Sep 14, 2022 at 12:47:16 AM

Hello Graveyard of the Gods Backers

I'm excited to say that earlier today we smashed through our first stretch goal to add digital maps and tokens as separate files that you can easily upload to your virtual table-top of choice.

Next up we have another adventure called Yob Gobbo by Tyler Omichinski

Goblins hope to turn the corpse of a dead goblin god into one of the great cities of the multiverse, but first they need the heroes' help dealing with vestiges of the god’s immune system and preventing the feuding factions from destroying each other.

When we reach $15,000 level, we'll fund creation on this adventure as a bonus PDF that will go out to all the backers at the $15 or higher level. At the rate we're going, I'm confident we'll reach this goal and the next, and maybe a couple after that.

Other Things I've Backed

It's time for another installment of other things I've backed. As always, these are just things that I saw that I thought looked fun.

As a GM I find I draw from a lot of places and find it's often nice to grave a short one-session adventure that I can drop into my campaign. That's what One-Shot Dungeons promises.

From the Kickstarter Page:

One-shot Dungeons for 5E Vol.2 gathers a small collection of five new ready-to-use D&D 5E dungeons for low level characters. Sometimes you don't have time to prepare your gaming session. Maybe you just want to run a one-shot adventure for your friends, or you could use some new ideas to enrich your campaign. In each of these cases, One-shot Dungeons is the ace up your sleeve.

That's all for now. I hope to check in soon when we hit $15,000.
