Latest Updates from Our Project:

Rewards Surveys and Organization Survey
over 1 year ago – Tue, Sep 27, 2022 at 07:58:34 PM

Hello Graveyard of the Gods Backers,

I this find you well. With the Kickstarter campaign behind us, we're now focused on putting the book together, revising all the manuscripts and ordering art for the final book. We've got a ways to go still, but I'll keep you updated as we go.

In the meantime, I want to let you know about two surveys.

Rewards Survey

The first and more important is the Backer Kit survey which you should get an email about within the next few days. This survey is required for most backers, since it is how I'm collecting important information such as which system you want for your rewards and where to send print copies. Please keep an eye on your email and fill this survey out when you get a link from Backer Kit.

Opinion Survey

The other survey is an optional opinion survey about organizing the books.

All of the adventure have new monsters and/or magic items, and I'm trying to decide where I want to put them. I have three options that I'm considering.

1) In the middle of the adventure, where they first appear. So when the party reaches the room filled with biting books, I include the stats for them on the same page.

2) At the end of each individual adventure. So that the monsters and items for Isle of Mettle are at the end of that adventure, while those for Junk Racers are at the end of that one, etc.

3) At the end of the book. All of the monsters for all the adventures are in one big chapter at the end of the book, and same for magic items.

I see pros and cons for all of these, and I cannot decide for myself which I prefer, so I'm giving you a chance to weigh in.

You can find the opinion survey here: https://forms.gle/a2sjB8fcKZjqUvXa7

Thanks,

Matthew

We Did It!
over 1 year ago – Sun, Sep 18, 2022 at 12:28:19 PM

The Kickstarter campaign for Graveyard of the Gods has wrapped up. It's been a great run and we've hit another stretch goal today to add an eighth adventure, A Place Called Time.

I'll be sending more updates soon with details about the pledge managers and progress on releasing the book.

For tonight though I'm going to take a moment to relax and celebrate.

Thanks,

Matthew

Hours to Go! Almost to Another Adventure!
over 1 year ago – Fri, Sep 16, 2022 at 03:16:28 PM

Hello again backers!

First up, we've crossed what is a personal milestone for me. Graveyard of the Gods has surpassed Lock and Keys as the highest number of backers for a project I've run, and we still have about 11 hours left to go.

Speaking of hours to go, we are nearly at our next stretch goal. As I write this we're just over $600 away from unlocking another adventure that will be added to the PDF and print books. Yesterday we raised over $1,700, so I think it's only a matter of time, but sooner is always better.

Do You Know About Add-Ons?

I know that many of you are returning backers who have been part of previous campaigns, and others of you have already added on some of the books from our previous campaigns.

For those who are new and haven't seen the add-ons, they include some of the highlights from previous Kickstarter campaigns we run. You can help us reach our next stretch-goal faster, improving Graveyard of the Gods and getting a cool book for D&D or Pathfinder in the processes.

Add-Ons include:

The Runewild Campaign Setting (5e, print $60 or PDF $20) – A massive hexcrawl campaign where heroes, explore a forest filled with witches, fey, and things that go bump in the night.

Terrain Toolbox and Alternate Objectives (5e or PF2e, print $25 or PDF $9) – Bring your encounters to a new level with encounter-building advice, sample terrains, and objectives other than just killing all the bad guys.

This and That Bundle (5e or PF2e, PDF $11) – Five mini-books, each themed around mundane items, and each containing history, magic items, monsters, and more. Lock and Key, Rope and Chain, Secret and Cypher, Torch and Lantern, and Book and Shelf.

Adventure Bundle (5e or PF2e, PDF $10) – Three short adventures you can easily drop into any campaign. Good Little Children Never Grow Up (3-5), The Golden Banner (5-7), Beacon in the Dark (7-9)

Final Countdown! Stretch Adventures in Print!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Sep 15, 2022 at 02:45:51 PM

Hello Graveyard of the Gods Backers!

We're nearing the end of the Kickstarter campaign for Graveyard of the Gods. We've recently hit over 500 backers, and are less than $3,000 from unlocking another adventurer. We raised well over that the first two days, and I'm confident we can still reach that with final two-day surge.

Stretch Adventures in Print!

When I planned out his campaign, I hoped we'd be able to reach a second volume. Alas that looks unlikely. But the good news is that instead we're going to add some of the stretch goal adventures to the print editions without any major delays in getting them out to you. Both the unlocked Yob Gobbo and soon to be unlocked A Place Called Time have drafts written, and can be completed in time with the rest of the adventures.

So print backers are getting extra pages in their books with each goal unlocked!

Other Things I've Backed

As we near the end of our campaign, I'll slip in on last Kickstarter campaign I've backed. As you might have guessed I'm a fan of campaigns that explore other planes, so I was intrigued by some of the ideas behind A Multiverse of Subclasses, which offers new subclasses based on several different planes.

From the Kickstarter page:

Heroic Subclasses of the Multiverse brings you everything you going to need to make your next role LEGENDARY. Inside you will find twelve subclasses written for the world's most popular roleplaying game and designed to take your game to the next level. Dabble in the dark magicks of the Shadow Dwellers. Ride to high adventure in the Lands of the Boiling Seas. Journey far from civilization with the Outlanders. Dive into the seedy underbelly of political intrigue with The Metropolitans.

That's all for now. I'm sure I'll check in again in the next day or two.

Adventure Unlocked, Interviews, and More
over 1 year ago – Thu, Sep 15, 2022 at 01:50:34 PM

Hello Backers,

I'm excited to say that we have reached another stretch goal, and we'll be releasing another adventurer set on a Dead God, Yob Gobo. This god corpse has become a haven for goblins, who come here in hopes of establishing a multiversal city.

Next up is another adventure. When we reach $20,000, we'll unlock A Place Called Time by Arthur Seixas De Martino.

The god-isle of Tem is home to three unique civilizations, each of which needs the heroes' help finding a stolen artifact. But as the characters journey through the strange landscape, they discover that for every mile they travel, a year passes for everybody else on the island.

With a week to go I'm confident we'll reach this goal, and probably one or two beyond that.

Interviews!

Since our last update, not one but two interviews that I did were released. If you'd like learn a little bit more about Graveyard of the Gods, other projects I've worked on, or just my thoughts on gaming, you should check them out.

The first is a text-based interview with Egg Embry on ENWorld.

The second is a podcast interview with Zach Walsh with Scheduled for Launch.

Other Projects I've Backed

I'll end with another project I've backed. Riddles are a staple of D&D, from sphinxes to talking doors, and I'm always looking for some more good ones. That's why I backed Riddle Registry.

From the Kickstarter Page:

Have you ever wanted something extra from your table-top RPG and wished that there was a way to make DM'ing easier? Well 'The Theorycraft Team' have been playing 5e D&D while surviving lockdown after lockdown, and together we have lived out some amazing adventures. But quickly finding riddles relevant to the PC's situation, the NPC or the character facing the challenge was impossible. To solve this issue 'The Theorycraft Team' created the Riddle Register: The Ultimate Book of Riddles!

Bonus Shout Out

I also want to give one last shout out Shipwrecks of the Astral Sea. I mentioned this in one of the first updates, but we've gotten a lot of new backers since then and their campaign is nearly complete. It's another Spelljammer-friendly anthology of adventures set in the astral plane, so would be super easy to combine with Graveyard of he Gods for an astral campaign.
